Somebody post an obligatory spiderman takeover meme or something please, I'm in the middle of the sticks on my phone.

Maybe because Cujo and myself were having a nice discussion about Weed, when another user posted about why it frustrates him. Don't act so shocked - just because it is rare to see any sort of discussion that isn't branded as a "flamewar" on these forums... (Thanks Cujo Smile )

And in reply to you, my research isn't "spoon-fed media remarks, stereotypes, or just plain misreportings from biased people" nor is it bias. It's based on what I know, what a lot of other's (including scientific research) and various internet sources which I can post, I referenced one in my post but I can list other sources too, if you want.

THC isn't necessarily good for one's brain. Weed is a drug, which people do become addicted to. I know of quite a few people in my school who are addicted to weed. If one misuses it or smokes regularly, that outcome is likely (obviously, weed does not appear to be as addictive as nicotine, heroin or cocaine etc).

Any smoke is bad for you, weed is no different. You're correct in that it doesn't contain tar or other things tobacco smoke contains, but it still has carcinogens, toxic substances and also a drug which changes the brain's functions and much of what I've already written.

(It is fun having this discussion with you!)

Allow me to give you an anecdote. Recently, for a college course, one of my brother's friends tested peoples' lungs. Now, my brother, he smokes weed and he smokes cigarettes. Albeit those cigarettes aren't pre-rolled, so they're not as bad as the ones with the orange filters on. They tested people who smoked weed, people who smoked pre-rolled cigarettes, people who smoke cigarettes they rolled themselves, and then there was a sort of venn diagram of people who did 2 or 3, I'm sure you understand. Now, they tested my brother's lungs. His lungs are cleaner than that of a perfectly healthy 15 year old who has never smoked in his life. My brother is 18. People who only smoke weed, theirs was even better, clocking in at 10 year old who has never even been in a somewhat polluted area. Whereas with cigarettes, the results were very bad. Most people had lungs of 30 year old people who smoke a pack a day. It was very worrying. Now, THC clears out the lungs of the deadly tar that's in the tobacco that you would usually put into a joint. It's a very good, clean smoke. That's why you get high from it. If you can give me, again, a scientific research that I can view and see what has happened within that research that shows that weed is insanely bad for you, then please, enlighten me. But until then, I'm afraid I have to state again, your remarks seem to be that of someone else's who you have just spat back out.

Weed is a drug, correct. But just because it's a drug doesn't mean it can be addictive. When was the last time you heard about a 6 year old being sent to rehab because he likes his strawberry calpol packets? Furthermore, I have said that the only time a person can get addicted to weed is if it is a psychological addiction, not one that's physically requiring you to want more. I said that in my last post, so to bring it up again seems strange to me. Taking the internet's side over matters such as weed is like taking the internet's side over matters such as religion, or something equally controversial. They will post whatever bull comes to their mind and people will say it was true because it has "A research has been done..." before it. You know that "research" that was done that says you need to drink 8 large glasses of water a day? False. Media. Same with 5 fruit a day. False. Media. I did a course in college of psychology, which showed a lot of different "facts" that the media has told us that is completely untrue. Unfortunately, those 2 were the only ones I could remember, but there were 8 or 9, and obviously countless more.

I got my facts from teachers in my school, who have all been against weed but said that it's not bad for you. These are people who have had 2:1 and even 1:1 degrees in chemistry and biology. As I did say in my last post, lots of everyday items contain carcinogens, and weed has just as little chance of causing cancer as that of someone who washes their hair every day with shampoo. Heck, a pack of crisps has more carcinogens in it than 3 grams of weed, which looks like this.

Most people could get about 7 or 8 joints out of that, which would last a while.

Thank you for this discussion, I'm glad it's not turned into a whole flamewar between stoners and republicans backing whoever up. Cheese

Everyone is so angsty. You can just leave the internet, if you want stuff, ask for it, your family are there to support and love you, why do you hate them? I bet your idea of religion being rammed down your throat is when your teacher tells you to do the sign of the cross in class. I bet your idea of a mean teacher is when a teacher tells you to do the sign... wait. I've been here before. 90% of females? Fucking hell, that's a lot of females. You gay, huh? YOU A QUEEEEEN? Everyone is so angsty in an era when there is so much to be happy about. It's not WW2, you're not in constant fear. You get mad when a page that should take 2 seconds to load takes 3.
