I've been thinking about buying this PC ready made or buying the components to build it for fun. What do you think?
1st choice:
Case : Vantage Gamers Style Midi Tower Case
Motherboard : Gigabyte Z77-D3H Motherboard Technology
CPU : Intel Ivy Bridge I7 3770K Unlocked CPU
Hard Drive : 2tb Sata Hard Drive
Memory : 16gb DDR3 1600Mhz Memory

This would be a much better choice for the idea of playing all games at max settings with more than enough playable FPS. You really don't need the i7-3770K, settle for the i5-3570K, if you can find one on eBay with similar specifications. The only thing to watch in those is the Power Supplies, lots of the time they end up being lower end power supplies and may die later on.

Sounds like a great build. However as Wweee our dear technican mentioned, you really don't need an i7 for gaming at all.
The difference between i5-3750k and the i7 version of it is pretty much not noticeable in games

Settle for a OCZ ModXStream, if you plan on keeping it with one GPU. This is a good option:

The GTX 670 will run just about anything you need for it. If you want GTX 680 performance, then just buy the GTX 670 and do about a 5%-10% overclock.
Keep the i5-3570K, only difference noticed between the i7 and i5 is in multi-threaded environments (rendering, video editing, etc.).
In total, you save around: $210
This money easily able to go for a case with better airflow, a solid state drive for load times/game load times or an aftermarket heatsink.

Problem is that I will be doing a lot of video rendering so maybe I should go for the i7 and change to the GTX 670. What do you think?

If you planned on doing a lot of it especially if it was more intensive rendering then I would go with the i7. Otherwise just for gaming, you wont notice much difference in FPS.

Ok, and I might need the RAM.
The Motherboard. If I don't end up building it, shall I still replace the Motherboard? Do you reckon it's needed?
