You really don't need the i7-3770K, settle for the i5-3570K, if you can find one on eBay with similar specifications. The only thing to watch in those is the Power Supplies, lots of the time they end up being lower end power supplies and may die later on. However as Wweee our dear technican mentioned, you really don't need an i7 for gaming at all. The difference between i5-3750k and the i7 version of it is pretty much not noticeable in games ![]() RE: Should I get this gaming PC? - GeorgeTheBoy - 10-28-2012 (10-28-2012, 11:27 PM)StillAlive Wrote: Sounds like a great build. If I choose to build it then It'll be with an i5 ![]() Thanks for the feedback ![]() 3rd choice: CPU: Intel I5 3570K 3.4ghz CPU Motherboard: Asus P8z77-V LX Motherboard RAM: 16 GB DDR3 1600 MHz patriot Viper Memory GPU: Nvidia GTX 680 2 GB PCI-E Graphics Card With HDMI Power supply: 750W RE: Should I get this gaming PC? - wweee2345 - 10-29-2012 (10-28-2012, 11:44 PM)GeorgeTheBoy Wrote:(10-28-2012, 11:27 PM)StillAlive Wrote: Sounds like a great build. If you plan on building one, switch out the motherboard for one of these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157293 Drop down to 8 GB of RAM preferably G-Skill and Corsair; pretty good overall reviews and good reliability. Settle for a OCZ ModXStream, if you plan on keeping it with one GPU. This is a good option: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341017 The GTX 670 will run just about anything you need for it. If you want GTX 680 performance, then just buy the GTX 670 and do about a 5%-10% overclock. Keep the i5-3570K, only difference noticed between the i7 and i5 is in multi-threaded environments (rendering, video editing, etc.). In total, you save around: $210 This money easily able to go for a case with better airflow, a solid state drive for load times/game load times or an aftermarket heatsink. Problem is that I will be doing a lot of video rendering so maybe I should go for the i7 and change to the GTX 670. What do you think? RE: Should I get this gaming PC? - wweee2345 - 10-29-2012 If you planned on doing a lot of it especially if it was more intensive rendering then I would go with the i7. Otherwise just for gaming, you wont notice much difference in FPS. Do you reckon it's needed? |
