Basically someone on the Guru3D Forum has found the original shaders, effects etc. from the E3 2012 demo that were locked up and hidden away in the Watch_Dogs game files.
There has been many discussions complaining that consumers were seriously mislead by the Ubisoft E3 2012 demo as the game looks a hell of a lot worse in the final version of the game. Video comparison here -
This patch restores a lot of the original aesthetics to the game which include:
-Changes to the default fog values
-Enabled bokeh DOF for the main cameras
-Stuttering Improvements
-E3 2012 Bloom
-Performance Improvements
-Enabled Headlight Shadows
-LoD Changes
-Reflection changes
-Added 3 new cameras to the game(closer, normal, further)
-Rain changes(High quality rain drops, properly reacting to light, etc)
-LensFlares(WIP)
-Lighting changes(TESTING AND WIP)
-Civilians density changes
And many more things.. SOON.
Microsoft/Sony paying them off to not include these because their consoles can't handle them is the only explanation I can think of for this.
Not only does the game look a lot better but reportedly the game now works perfectly for those who had performance issues.
I'd call this a pretty undeniable example that shitty console standards are indeed holding back PC gaming from progressing further.
Thanks Ubisoft.
