Hopefully by numbering the parts of this guide it will help you in finding what you need more easily. Ready? Let's start.

1. Starting

You've just got the President position. You will now have a period of Spawn Immunity. Spawn inmunity is there so that you will not be killed/harmed by anyone that might of raided before and is still there, amongst other things. You may not use the Spawn Immunity to jump of the Nexus Bridge! It's agains't the rules and might get you blacklisted.

Now, you are at your office. You are not obliged to stay there, but it's a good place to set up your office, put in a desk and some decoration. Try to make it as realistic as possible. No president for example would have weapons all over the walls. But, before you start building wich usually takes around 5 minutes, you should broadcast to your citizens. It's the first thing you should do. We'll see about broadcasting later on.

1.1 Styles of Government

No one's the same, no Government is the same. One Government may be a liberal one, whislt the next one might be a Dictator, or a really religious Government for example. Each style of Government will affect citizens differently, just remember that it's them you must keep happy, and if not, have a good force to protect you!.

Most common Governments are:

1. Liberal: These are what we understand as normal today. It's a normal Government, with it's normal laws. It try's to keep peace and keep citizens satisfied. Aslong as you keep the taxes to a normal level, Corleones and Rebels won't really bother you... For a while.

2. Dictatorship/Communism: These types of government will get the masses furious, and will give green light for both rebels and corleones to bring their wrath down on you. These types must be backed with a really loyal and powerfull force, otherwise it will crumble.

3. Religious: These types of goverment are not very common, but do occur. Sometimes the President will praise a certain God, and tell everyone that they must obey such god, such faith, and that he has been sent by him to keep peace in the world. This will confuse the masses, but aslong as you don't get up their noses with high taxes, you won't have much problems. Still Rebels and Corleones might find this as an excuse to raid you.

4. Selfish: These types of Government happen sometimes. The president will just care about his pockett and won't really do much. You should try to avoid this at all cost, since it's the less RolePlayed style of them all.

1.2 What not to do.

First of all you need to have in mind that as a President, you are serving the city, not yourself! Putting the taxes up as you just join will make citizens hate you from the very beggining, and rebels will be planning their move in the future. As a President you should spell correctly, specially in broadcasts. No one wants a President that writes like a 10 year old.

Another thing you shouldn't do, is get out of the Nexus straight away or on your own. If you wish to exit it you must have your SS (Special Service) with you at all times. They are your bodyguards and Special Forces for dangerous situations. Remain in the Nexus and start broadcasting some laws!

Don't make stupid laws. By stupid laws I mean things like "If you see me you must jump 10 times and sing". Next thing you know you'll have rebels shooting your door down.
Also, don't make any laws that go against permanent laws. You are not allowed to do that.

1.3 Commands

As President, you have a lot of commands at your disposal. You will use the following:

/broadcast -------- Example: /broadcast Good evening citizens!

/radio ------------- All Government units share the same Radio. That goes for Police Officers, SS Agents, President, Paramedics, Firemen and Secretaries.

/demote PLAYER --- Will demote a Player (Does not work with Firemen or Paramedics... Yet)

/lockdown --- Will go into lockdown. During a Lockdown people must stay indoors. Lockdowns are rare, and should only be used in extreme cases, such as RP events in wich there is a bomb, meteorite, etc. Still you may use it for example if the Nexus is under raid.

/unlockdown --- Will cancel the Lockdown

/warrant PLAYER arrest --- Will warrant someone for an arrest

/warrant PLAYER search ---- Will warrant someone for a search

/unwarrant PLAYER ---- Will unwarrant someone

/checktax --- See what the current tax ammount is

/tax AMMOUNT ---- Will set a tax. For example: /tax 15

1.4 Broadcasting

Now you know your commands! You now know what style of Government you want to do and what you shouldn't do. It's start to tell the citizens that you are the new President. Be as polite as you can to win their trust! It's a good idea to tell them that laws will come shortly, so they won't worry or ask too much.

Try to write as perfectly as possible, it gives out that you are a very capable and serious person. Writing liek diz will just make people think You're just another minge. Prove them wrong!

With Broadcast, you shall announce laws, plans, important events, new projects you have in mind, and so on. You could even give out News!

2. Organisation.

Getting organised is crucial. You have now told the Citizens that you are there and you will make laws shortly. First of all, get your workforce organised! You are in charge of everything and everyone, but you also have "Sub-Bosses" that will take care of different parts of the Government, like the Police Force and the Special Service. It would be a good idea to call the Head of the SS and the Police Commander to your office to sort things out.

2.1 Head of the SS.

The Head of the Special Service is in charge of the Special Service. They are Heavily Armed men, scray looking and very well protected. This is a donator only job so you will usually get competent people. These people are not to do the Officers work, such as patrolling, putting traffic fines, etc. See more about the Special Service here.

Talk to him and tell him what you want the Special Service to do, if you want them to secure the Nexus, stay at all times with you, or just go out and patrol, wich as I stated before, they shouldn't. He'll take care of them, and will issue them orders. Make sure they follow his orders, and don't hesitate to demote any black sheeps!

2.2 Police Commander.

He is in charge of your Police Force. He will take control of situations and will give out orders. Usually they don't do much, but it would be a good idea to have a talk with them and try to organise the force a little bit, instead of just letting your Officers run around the city without a general idea of what's going on. Make sure the Officers follow his orders! Don't hesitate to demote. More information about Police Officers here

2.3 Paramedics

Paramedics heal people, and will most likely be healing your forces after a gun battle, wich take place quite oftenly in EvoCity. Try to always have at least one, so that your citizens are always healthy! They follow your orders, make sure to be straight with them. More information about Paramedics here.

2.4 Firemen

Same as Paramedics, though they don't heal. They put out fires. Fires sometimes occur in EvoCity, so it would be a good idea to have at least a Fireman on duty. Make sure he follows orders! A lot of new players join the class and start doing what they want. Control them!

2.5 Secretaries.

Secretaries are good for arranging meetings, and will save you having to have some security in the lobby at all times. Let them make some doors at the bottom, and get things ready for you. They can really be a stress reliever! But make sure they do their job correctly.

3. Laws and Taxes

Laws are what keep the people under control, they prevent your citizens from doing what they want, or what you don't want them to do. There are laws for everything, from drugs, to traffic ones. Be sure to cover the needs of your city, and have laws that go with your Style of Government.
Depending on your laws, citizens will look up or down on you, so if you're trying to be a Good President, for the people, don't make laws that will take away some of their liberties, such as "No cars allowed inside the city", for example. Remember that you cannot make laws that go against permanent laws. For example "Money printers are legal".

Taxes. Taxes are a very important thing in your Government. They can be from $0 per payday to $30. As explained before, you change it using the /tax command. Just now you get all the taxes, so if you set taxes at $20 and there are 50 people inside the server apart from you, you will be getting $1,000 per payday. Now, this does not mean that you should try to always get as much as possible. President that have taxes up to $30 tend to get raided quite quickly if not given a good enough explaination.

Adapt your Taxes as the Roleplay goes on. If there's a lot of crime, start putting the taxes up, but always notify people by Broadcast. Everytime you change the taxes you should Broadcast why, this will keep your citizens informed and will make them more happy knowing that you care about them and give out a reason for everything. A few example of Tax changes would be:

Taxes going up: /broadcast Due to the ammount of crime in the city taxes will go up to cover the costs of our Officers needs.

Right now remember that Taxes don't really go anywhere apart from your pocket. Taxes are there for more realism, so you should adapt them to real situations.

Taxes going down: /broadcast Due to the low crime rate citizens will now be rewarded with a $5 tax discount.

Taxes going down really make people happy. Sure it might just be $5 wich is worthless, but people see it as you caring about them. Keep it in mind!

3.1 Traffic Laws

Traffic Laws are really important. They are a way of controling people and their vehicles. You can set up laws that limit the speed, that forbid people from parking on the road, that make people pay a fine if they go through a red light, and so on. It's up to you what you would like to set Speed Limits at, but for inside the city, 30 MPH is just about fine. Your officers have Radar Guns that can detect the speed of cars, so you should really emphasise on your officers looking out for speeders!

A few examples of Traffic laws:

/broadcast Speed Limit inside the city is 30MPH, outside it's 50 MPH. Anyone going faster than this will get a $500 fine.

/broadcast Anyone parking their vehicles on the road is subject to getting his car impounded and a $500 fine.

/broadcast Anyone going through red lights is subject to a $250 fine.

Try to keep fines low, people won't like a President that fines them $2,000 for driving on the wrong side of the road!

3.2 Drug Policy

Drugs are not a common thing in EvoCity, apart from Weed. It's up to you if you wish to allow Weed growth or not. If you do, underground organisations, such as the Rebels or the Corleones will usually stick to farming weed, and will usually leave you alone. If you don't, it doesn't make that much of a difference, but if you order a raid and many plants are destroyed, be sure that a raid might be comming your way!

Hard drugs are always illegal. A President that allows people to sell Cocaine for example will cause citizens to get angry. No one wants their kids going around with people taking Cocaines on the streets!

3.3 Banned groups

Now as the President, you can ban certain groups from inside the City. You can ban the Rebels and the Corleones. You may ban one or the other, or both of them. Banning should be a last resort thing, banning a strong group will really provoke them and they will want to raid you so they can enter the city as soon as possible. You should only ban them if they are really causing trouble inside the city. For example, they raided you, or they killed a bunch of Citizens. Just remember that after banning them, they will want to raid you as stated before, so keep your SS near you!

4. Security

Right, now you've set up some laws, set taxes, organised your force and you are ready to start working. Presidential work isn't that hard, but it sure can be dangerous. As the President you are the most valuable person in the City. You are target number one for Rebels, so if they see you walking around with no one to protect you, be sure that someone will try to murder you.

4.1 Special Service

Your Special Service is there to assist in dangerous situations. But if they are not needed they should always be with you. Keep them close to you, they are the best defense in raids. Don't let them walk around as they like, that's not their job! Officers are the ones to patrol, not Special Service Agents.

Also a tip, don't let them use suits, it just causes a lot of chaos in gunfights.

4.2 Threats

The main Threats come from Rebels and Corleones. Make sure you have them watched over, and don't provoke them if you don't want to get raided. You shouldn't let them get away from crimes, but don't really get on their nerves too much, or it's you that will pay for it.

4.3 Securing the Nexus

For a better security, you should always have your SS near you, and only send them out if the situation needs them. For example, a raid on a drug farm with armed people inside. You should instruct your agents to make defenses, such as keypaded doors. This will prevent people entering without using force, and if they do use force, then you know they are hostile. Just remember, if you make Keypaded doors, make sure to give everyone the code over radio!
Try to keep codes the same for all of Nexus, otherwise your own officers won't be able to reach you in case of an emergency because they forgot the codes or just don't know them.
There are many Adv. Dupe defensee systems. They go from huge, to simple. A good idea would be to make the Nexus Bridge a bit more secure, people seem to fall of the top a lot. Also, placing cameras around the Nexus will help you have a good view of any situation that goes on from the safety of your office.

5. Ideas

You should always try to improve Roleplay as the President. Try making RP laws, such as "You must always wear your seat belt in your vehicle". There aren't any seat belts in CityRP, but it improves Roleplay.

A good idea would be to organise some events, for example, hosting a speech in the Nexus lobby. People will go, though probably not many will show up. People are really busy most of the time!

You could always modify the arrest system. You can have your officers bring prisoners to the cells and get held for trial. This will open new jobs up for people, such as lawyers, judges and you may get a jury for big cases. This is very difficult to make, since most people will do what they want, so it's a good idea to have an Admin help you out.

That's all you need to know to get you started in being a good President! Now you now everything that you need to know, and can get working straight away. Experience will help you make better decisions in the future, and will improve your Roleplay abilities.

Good luck and follow the rules!
Live a good life. If there's a god and he's just, he will not care of how devout you are, he will accept you for the virtues you have based your life upon. If there's no god, then you will have gone, but you will have lived a noble life which will stay in the memories of those that you love.

Hopefully it should encourage people to make Advanced guides in the future by having many guides with [Advanced] on it =]

Guide is now finished for the time being, might change somethings in the future though!
