Detective RP Guide

Setting up a Desk.

As a detective you will be working a lot from your desk, the type of Detective you are depends on your style and location of desk, Here are some basic idea's for some types of Detective you can be.

Government Department

1) Police Detective or [FL : PD] Detective

Desk Location: Nexus - Court Room or Police Floor.
Boss: The President / Police Commander
Rate of Pay: Standard Government Wage
Desk Style: Simple, Cluttered with Paper and a Coffee Mug.
Uniform: A Suit or Standard Police Uniform (Uniform is not what makes the detective)

2) FBI Detective or Special Service Investigator

Desk Location: Nexus - Presidents Floor.
Boss: Head of Special Service / The President
Rate of Pay: Standard Government Wage
Desk Style: Technology Filled, PC Screen, Monitors and Data Banks.
Uniform: Suit.

These detective's desk is situated in the Nexus. Its main tasks will be assisting police, sorting out hostage situations as a Negotiator or working alongside the President. (More details further down in the guide)

Private Detective

1) Private Detective

Desk Location: Your Home or Specialized Office Building.
Boss: Yourself or Head of Organisation if working for a Detective Company.
Rate of Pay: $500 - $2500 Per Investigation (Assuming good Results)
Desk Style: Your Choice.
Uniform: Suit or Standard Clothes (I would choose Suit)

2) Police Informant

Desk Location: Your Home.
Boss: President or Police Commander
Rate of Pay: Your tell the Police what you want for the Info you have.
Desk Style: Your Choice.
Uniform: Suit.

These Detectives can be doing a Wide range of work doing anything from Reporting things to the Police to helping Lovers find out if there other half has been cheating. These types of Detectives can normally negotiate there own pay rate.

"So... Now i've got a Desk, what do i do?!"

Well, This all Depends on what type of Detective you are...

Government Detective's should report straight to there boss (as listed above) and state there intentions - if there boss disagrees then either 1) Go Unemployed and do Private Detective or 2) Play as your RP class.

Private Detective's should start advertising there services. I would first send a /PM to the President asking if he needs any work. Then use /Advert and type some Message like this... /Advert "Need a Detective? Someone to Snoop around? Someone to find your Cheating Wife? Then /PM BlahBlahBlah"

"Yes! Someone wants to Hire me!"

Assuming your a Private Detective, These are the Basic steps you should take to starting your investigation.

Step 1) Invite them to your Office for a Full consultation.
Step 2) Find out what they want to know and write it all down using /note.
Step 3) Ask about suspects and anyone who might be able to help you out.
Step 4) State that this is all Confidential.

If you are a Government Detective, These are the Basic Steps.

Step 1) Find out what investigation the President por Head of SS/Police Commander is sending you on.
Step 2) Write it all down on /Note
Step 3) Ask about any Possible Leads.
Step 5) Radio to your Fellow Officers that you are Investigating and do not want any Police Interference and will request Backup if needed.

Once you have found the Required info, Report back to your Client and Report the Results.

If you are a Government Detective, I recommend doing a full case Write up using /note then handing it to the President yourself.

Tips and Warnings.

Tips:

This is Passive RP - You DO NOT Need to Carry a Gun or Arrest People.
Always do your Job if told by the President.
Post up in RP Section or on This guide when you are Finished!

Warnings:

Some Suspects will try and Shoot you - You Can shoot back, But i'd recommend getting Backup.
Dont FailRP or Meta Game.
Allways Obey the Rules of the Server.
This is NOT UNDERCOVER RP. Don't treat it as it, always display your Job Title clearly.

finally a detective RP guide i actully tried to RP it some while ago and my first client wanted information on the president. And when i didnt manage to find any info on the pres i got shot.
