Estleback Runs Alcatraz Ex-cell-ently

 

On 19 June 2020, the Estleback Corporation spearheaded the return of the Alcatraz high security prison. This was after the EvoCity government awarded the corporation with a contract to run the facility and its operations after a pitch by Estleback was made of mitigating the prisoner population crisis to the island and positive rehabilitation of said prisoners received huge support from the council. Significant work from Estleback's Director of Development, Sam Davis, was also said to have played a big part in the return of Alcatraz.

During the re-location process, the prisoners were taken from their respective prisons, and taken to be registered and searched at the Nexus. Shortly after a short speech made by the Director of the Estleback Corporation, Steve Burwin, the prisoners were loaded onto a bus escorted by the corporation, and driven to their new home: Alcatraz.

 

In order to ensure proper rehabilitation of the prisoners, tasks like woodcutting, canteen duties, and stone mining were assigned, in order to improve the work ethic of those incarcerated. Showering, leisure, and eating were also key parts of the inmates' day.

It has been reported that a riot that broke out a few days after the re-opening was successfully contained by the Estleback Corporation, and that a poisoning case was also dealt with swiftly and successfully. Additionally, the President and Vice President made a visit to the facility; a testament to the excellency of the Alcatraz high security prison.

There are further plans to finish the refurbishment of the facility and with social distancing rules being relaxed, it seems that Estleback will continue to run Alcatraz perfectly. It could be said that they have run the cells so well that they deserve an a-ward.

The Glass-Floored Restaurant

 

For those who aren't afraid of heights or afraid of walking on glass floors, there's a new restaurant in town to satisfy both your hunger and your inner daredevil.

The man behind it all is Joe Lawrence, who during his travels throughout the continental United States started to notice a trend in major downtown areas: towers. He recalls going up several, and that the main idea is having a restaurant with good food while enjoying the beautiful, sprawling views of the surrounding city. Once he came to EvoCity, he set about bringing what he had saw with him, and this culminated with the construction of the restaurant that stands tall and proud today.

 

"Construction was fine", Mr Lawrence told us, "It was a bit tricky to try and get the design and so fourth, I think the most difficult part was the elevator because I learned the hard way that you can't trust anyone to operate the elevator but yourself".

The most surprising part about this all is that Joe Lawrence himself used to be afraid of heights, "but after making it to the eighteenth floor of a hotel and looking out in amazement at the sight of things", and that that moment was a real turning point and later helped him to build the restaurant.

Dodo Travel Plane Disappears!

Yesterday, on 27 June 2020 at 7 PM, a plane departed from EVIA (EvoCity International Airport), it was travelling with Dodo Travel towards a holiday destination. While there was nothing out of the ordinary when it came to the security procedures that were held at the Airport, and nothing unusual occurring during boarding, who could possibly have imagined that EvoCity would experience its very own disappearing plane nightmare.

 

Some are already comparing this event to another plane disapperance: Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370. EvoCity Air Traffic Control has no location or communication with the Dodo Travel plane, and already there are calls for an investigation, conspiracy theories of alien abduction and secret organisations shooting it down, and public vigils for those lost passengers and staff.

There were over 20 passengers, 2 pilots, 2 flight attendants, and 1 Air Marshall on board as the plane departed from the runway and entered the sky. We hope that they are all safe, alive, and will be rescued from wherever the plane is now.
