What are your thoughts on the current casino situation: should they be banned fully?; should there be a whitelist system?; do they encourage gambling among minors?

Discuss!

In my eyes Casino should not be banned at all maybe a whitelist system to ensure that it is legit but seeing as there is no legal violation people seem to be throwing up shit for no reason. Things like age cannot even be contributed in the argument seeing as there are guns and alcohol on the server

Considering there are no restrictions for virtual guns and alcohol and there are for virtual gambling age is a very valid argument!

Whilst I don't like how you use this point as an example to the topic, outside the topic I do agree. Fearless has drug-use, violence, gun-use, fighting, swearing, allowed to roleplay rape (which I'm sorry, but that's fucking disgusting). Yet, in our Terms of Service:

There should be a whitelist system yes, but I don't see how they are illegal seeing as there is no way to cash out in-game money into real life currency.
Yes, gambling can be addictive but so can be video games. Is Valve breaking the law simply by providing a video gaming platform for example? It is a person's own risk if they get into gambling on FL and actually get addicted to it.

Archer your point is ridiculous.

A prime example of a person is Ausverkauft.
Little lad bought a high amount of money packs bless him to then bet it all away.
The whole casino schtick is boring. It needs to fuck off.

Make money properly.
18+ only way forward.

So causing an influx of money into the FL economy and causing greater unbalance in it?

That's where the line should be crossed; when casinos cause economic instability on the servers.

I am against the idea of a whitelist.
It would only create a massive monopoly for those few lucky people that get permission for it. With a whitelist, there would only be a couple of casinos around, so it restricts any competition and all of the money would be shared between fewer people, making the casino business even more profitable.

Not sure about a ban though. On one hand, I don't want to restrict passive RP/shop RP any further, as it already is struggling. But at the same time, is there any depth to casino RPs? Or do people go there to just type /dropmoney and select what to bet it on?
Also should take into consideration that there have been some people who spent a lot of real life money on the casinos, and it can easily fuel a gambling addiction. Though I don't know how common this sort of activity is on Fearless, so can't comment on that too much.

Also, would this whitelist/ban cover all sorts of digital gambling, like betting on car races etc? Or only public casino dupes?
