New Staff Recruitment Process

Moderator --> Trial Admin --> Administrator

Hi everyone,

Due to the ongoing issue of low staff presence on the server, we have decided to forge a plan of action in terms of what we want to do with the staff recruitment process. Many things have been suggested by staff members and community members. Some ideas, such as staff applications, do not seem viable in the server's current climate, and we also don't want to completely revert to the old Moderator system or lower the standards for getting Trial Admin. However, we liked the approach of having an extra tier to the process. 

Having the Moderator rank back as a base level before candidates get put on Trial for Admin, will enable us to give players (who we might not have before) a chance to prove their existing potential administrative capabilities, whilst still having the opportunity to improve and develop upon them before a decision is made on whether they are suitable to progress to a timed Trial Admin position. Meanwhile, the servers should hopefully be having more of a staff presence and can be kept cleaner than they have been as of late. See a simplified break down of the Moderator rank and the recruitment process below:

 Moderator
- First stage of recruitment
- Given to players we would like to see be put in a staff role and observe how they handle the role and carry themselves in it.
- No set time limit for being in this rank
- More restricted than Trial Admin
- Important commands: Kick, Blacklist(3h), Givepoint


 Trial Admin
- Second stage of recruitment
- Given to Moderators we think would be suitable and could be trusted enough for the full Admin rank.
- Standard Trial length of 2 months.
- If successful, the candidate will proceed to the full Administrator rank.
- If unsuccessful, the candidate will either be put pack to Moderator with detailed feedback on what went wrong (so they can try to improve on these elements until they get put on Trial again), or they will be fully demoted to user in some extreme cases (blatant, intentional abuse etc).
- Abilities and commands as they are for the current Trial Admin rank


 Administrator
- Final stage of recruitment (i.e. recruited)
- Granted this rank if their Trial is successful
- Full access to all normal Admin abilities and commands.
- Full access to Admin forum areas and involvement in discussions
