Call of Duty Black Ops IIII - World Reveal
#1
Information
Hey everybody,

Rarely making topic but I had to do this after horror I've seen tonight and I'd like your opinion on it.

Quote:As suggested by the rumors relayed by Kotaku, Polygon and Charlie Intel, Activision has indeed decided to set aside the single player mode this year to focus on the multiplayer components of its title. After a brief retrospective of previous episodes of the series, the classic online mode unveiled in a first trailer. Treyarch seems intent on tidying up the exoskeletons in the closet and has kept repeating that " no, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 contains no wall-jumps or armor of the future ". The game takes place between the events of COD: Black Ops 2 and 3 and will therefore contain most of the technology that is specific to the series: semtex, tomahawks, flamethrowers, drones or grapple guns, plus the traditional bonus series of eliminations.

Ok so about this let's say that it's a good improvement, the player here is coming back to it's basis: the ground. The developers finaly got the word that flying and walking on walls isn't CoD. Also, good to see back our tomahawk Wink

Quote:The specialists are also back in this new album. As in Black Ops 3 , each of the eight characters has its own equipment and a unique ability. With no automatic regeneration, the multiplayer relies for example on the power of Crash, who can swing medkits on the fly to heal his allies. Another specialist can put a large shield on the ground, another has a dog and Recon can turn on thermal vision goggles to spot enemies through the walls (yes, it's a nice wallhack). We also note the implementation of a circular fog of war, which hides the area around the player but can be countered with a tag to put on the playground. All these features, explains the representative of Treyarch , should be an integral part of the rhythm of the parties and will mingle with weapons, which rarely disappear from the screen. For example, we can swing grenades or activate a capacity of one hand while shooting with the other. This is a novelty on which the studio insists, as well as predictable dispersion schemes and new smoke effects generated during heavy fire. Difficult to not detect a certain willingness to push Call of Duty on the competitive front, especially thanks to the multiplayer leagues.

I'd say on this a few word like:
- Realism improvement like healing is a good thing, it will stop agressive rusher/play in team with "Crash".
- That specialist that can put large shield on floor remembers me that perk from The Division...
- Recon is ... we will see what the community thinks of him. When I watched the live, people didn't laugh about it.
- I think the competitive front can be a good thing.

Quote:To overcome the lack of story mode in this year's episode, the zombie mode will be declined in " three different experiences ", each corresponding to a story line. These have moreover nothing to do with that of the previous parts, since we are talking about unpublished characters and a new universe that nobody will understand anyway nothing. Giant robots, mummies, magic artifacts, monkeys, gladiators and, incidentally, a few zombies: the recipe should not change but will be expanded with seasonal events, a concept of scoring more present and additional customization possibilities.

I don't agree much with this being said. CoD Zombies had such great potential over the years and on previous Call of Duty, with its story, and its secrets (I personally spent hours on it). However, when I saw this shit in the global reveal, I was like Peter Griffin

No words to describe the shit they did to the Zombies mode:
- They turned it into a God of War/Assassins Creed combined with Resident Evil's BOW. Plus adding a Titanic level
- Where went all the weapons like the Lazer Pistol and the magic box ? Dayum...

Quote:No wonder either, Treyarch concluded the conference on the official announcement of Blackout, the new royal battle mode inspired by Fortnite and PUBG . A hundred players resembling characters from different modes of the series will be projected on a playground to find weapons, land vehicles, air and sea. This is all we know for the moment, it will probably wait until this summer to see the said mode in action.

They literally killed the franchise with this being announced, Call of Duty isn't a Battle Royale. It's a First Person Shooter, and removing the campaign and it's storyline is a huge mistake in my opinion.
Now with this being said, let's talk about the "Blackout" mode: they got a bit lazy by taking characters from previous CoD, and so they didn't have to do much characters models; Same goes from vehicles.

Quote:Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will be released on October 12 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and can already be tried by those present on site. For the others, it will be necessary to wait for the PC version (which will support the 4K and the screens 21: 9 without limit of framerate ) will follow the tracks of Destiny 2 and will leave on the platform Battle.net of Blizzard. Treyarch explains that he took advantage of the experience gained by the creators of Overwatch (Jeff Kaplan even offered an appearance during the conference) to refine the feeling of weapons and the interface. Even if Treyarch claims to have " totally upset the codes of the series"Do not forget that we heard the same thing last year (and the year before), and that it will certainly be still relevant for the next episode.A closed beta, certainly planned for this summer , will be accessible for players who pre-order the game.

So they just decided to f*ck off Steam this year ? And no PC version announced this year. I don't like much this idea of "being a Battle.net exclusive".

So hang on, zombie mode will be with melee weapons instead of firearms?
No story mode? What will the largest part of the game be then?

Edit: Fuck me, it seems they fucked this up big time. Im trying not to judge the game until its release, but theyre making it very hard.

They said they will focus on friendly experience as you can notice they brought back the multiplayer front leagues, put a Battle Royale, expended the multiplayer abilities, and put the game on Battlenet instead of Steam. However, I don't understand their move about the Zombie, they just did shit about it.

It seems the largest part of the game will be "Blackout", the Battle Royale.

The battle royale actually seems interesting to me. And also boots on the ground, aswell as a redefined interesting zombie mode.

Might give this one a shot, despite the fact that I barely played WW2.
