Need a new graphics card
#1
Yo guys ^^

So yea. I need a new graphics card. My old one litteraly got f*cked up after my pc got infected. and it's getting worse.

I've been looking around the forums, But i haven't really decided yet, as my budget is only about 180 €. So i came here to ask.

If I could get a card that's able to run games like Bf3 and Skyrim, that would be great. Now, Another option is to wait till my 15th birthday, (which is in about 6 months) I COULD also wait till there, and maybe buy a more expensive , but better card?

Also, as this is my first time I'm installing a graphics card in this PC (Hewlett Packard/HP) I'd hope you guys could find a guide to help me.

Need of current specs? Look down below.

Graphics card: ATI Radeon HD 4600 series

Processer: AMD Phenom X4 820

Sound: ATI HD audio Device

RAM: 8GB DDR2

HDD: 100GB Sata

Motherboard: Can't currently find out. But I'm trying if that's needed too

So that's it!

Thanks on beforehand.

Ide recommend the Kotac GTX 560 as mine at the moment (if you like it cheap) is a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 and that runs Crysis, bf3, skyrim all them games on Full graphics, with a HD screen although i do have an AMD Phenom™ II X4 B45 Processor which runs smoothly with the GeForce, thats if you want to keep to it basic and it still runs, but if i new that the Kotac was that cheap, i would of gone for that lol

Allright The zotac one seems good. Saw some reviews. Do you guys know any good guides or installing these graph. cards?

Hmm, i built my computer up piece by piece so i got it cheap and sort of simple hehe.

Im not quite sure on a guide. Personally i prefer and i think that a video tutorial is easier (a descent one anyway) as it shows you what bits to take out at a time. Written ones can get complex as ive seen.

Every computer is different in some sort of way to make it more compact etc,
But this tutorial does show you quite clearly

you do haved to be careful though as you could damage your computer very easily, and if it doesnt work, you could just damage it even more, so if your not that confident i do suggest you get expert help

Allright.

So i was randomly browsing youtube. and then i found these tutorials.

But do you need to do all that he says in the vid? or just plug in the card and it should work?

You need to get rid of the old drivers and install new ones.

Use DriverSweeper to delete the old ones.

So, I was bored today and opened up my computer And this is what it looks like inside:

EDIT: The power supply's watt is 230.

As it seems on the last picture, It hink there's about 3-4 Ports for and my current card is using the x16 port.

Also my power supply has no "Six pence wire" to connect a new graphics card.
