As of today, since his death (unless ofcourse you believe he somehow cheated and faked his death to move on and live as a hermit in puerto rico) fourty years ago, Jim Morrison would have been 72 years old. In 1970 the Beatles had broken up and Jim Morrison's death in 1971 was probably the final nail into the casket for psychedelic/classic rock. Jim's influence on the music industry was incredible both with his poetry and involvement as founder and lead singer of the famous rock band The Doors.

His incredible song-writing and vocal abilities rocked an era and seemed to purposefully merge the world of modern poetry and rock together to form a coalition set to rule a genre. He died at age 27 and was placed into the infamous list that is the '27 Club' a list of rock-stars and musicians such as Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Amy Winehouse, Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain and many more had died due to a variety of causes ever since the 1930s. His death was an incredible blow to music as we know it, and had he lived I have a prominent feeling that music would be very different from what it has evolved into. (Not saying it's bad now, just saying it would be drastically different had he lived) This man even was able to predict the future of music in a sense as showcased in the article below.
