I cannot get my keypad to work either can my friend, but some people seem to have them working can someone explain this

It's probably because you went singleplayer before joining.
If you did so, just lower the graphics of the game and join the server without launching it.
If this didn't work, go to your gmod properties and add "-dxlevel 81" to it.

If this isn't the problem, then I'm out of fixes.

I would say the exact same as Bio, but if any of those fixes dont work, you could reinstall GMOD, just dont forget to make copys of your addons before doing so.
