I love police RP and SRU would be useless, and in addition to the fact you people are saying that police don't have much firepower, well in the uk the most we have is a tazer yet not every police officer even has one. I don't know what countries you're in but for officers to carry around machine guns is just strange, they'll only have machine guns if they are protecting Buckingham Palace or such places

FYI Suarez, speaking as someone from the UK, The reason that we only use a tazer is because we have tighter gun laws, the Police force is modelled around the society it protects, the society doesn't mold in for the police force. A lot of People have guns in America, mainly because it's in their country's constitution to allow them the have guns. Think about Texas, a friend from Texas said they need to go out everyday and shoot the poisonous and dangerous insects and snakes on their porch. We have tazer because guns are not as common.
(Disclaimer: I am not sure on American Gun law)

I'm sticking to my guns and still saying that the government is underpowered.

Cops with M4A1's and Shotguns then including the SRU with high powered weaponry, damn that would be hard to raid the nexus, but anyway I don't really like the idea and I believe MP5's and the Shotgun works just fine. -Support

I don't believe that this suggestion will cause the Police to turn into the SRU for quite a few reasons

1. Not everyone in the Police will equip an M4, the same way as not everyone equips an MP5 atm.

2. The SRU being donator only usually have higher hours than the rest of the Police and are generally more elite and specialise in responding to high intensity situation like robberies, raids etc.

3. The SRU automatically start off with an M4 or a UMP, the Police would have to buy their own and risk losing it which will put people off.

4. The SRU have still have access to equipment that the Police don't like the Keypad cracker, Awp etc.

5. They both have different rules, Police are supposed to be patrolling and investigating but the SRU have to stay in the Nexus until they have to respond to a call

Jordy, literally your first sentence explains your discontent with this suggestion. Also the point that police officers are equipped by the government, ergo blank check. They should always be better equipped in general. That includes their firearms.

The reason you will find armed response primarily using MP5s in the UK is because they don't have the same amount of arms trading and relaxed firearms sales that one might find on (oh, I don't know,) Fearless. Only two other places come to mind with a comparable amount of guns, and those are Switzerland and America.

The gamemode is rigged in favor of the criminals. Think about it.. it allows everyone but the Government on FL to have a small arsenal at his or her disposal, yet the poor schmuck playing as a police man is nothing more than cannon fodder .

Surely the Government should have easier / direct access to fully automatic weapons / sniper rifles and the like compared to the citizen?

It needs an overhaul in my opinion .

The police do not have a ranged weapon. end of story. and they really need one, the m4a1 is a perfect fit, and has good accuracy at range. the mp5 is great at close quarters, this is why SRU needs an MP5, and police need the m4a1. simple.

it's like throwing a mouse into a tigers cage and then say that it's a fair fight.
You don't think it's just a bit redicilous that the "criminals" has such a upper hand?

Are you sure about that?

There is a police officer with a AR15 right there in a gunfight.
I think this would be a good idea due to the fact that they use them a lot in america as they have them in the boots of cars. Also as you previously said they are underpowered.

Thats armed response witch US Police done have, they have SWAT aka SRU

If we want to be really technical here, Police need lisenses to carry AR15s, or any secondary. Their duty pistol is the one they qualify with, and have flares, spike strips and their secondary in the back of their cruiser. So tge SWAT, TEAMS, SRU, or whatever it's called only respond if they need even more firepower. But overall, +Support

What.... What Police Department are you involved in? Most PD's in Arizona and North Dakota hand their officers AR-15s and Shotguns, and tell them to keep in the back of the car unless otherwise authorized.

Bolded is the real reason you think MP5s and Shotguns are fine, and italic is what you want because it makes it easy to raid Nexus.

If you gave the police M4A1 then it will basically be GG for every raid ever, Ten people (SRU+ Full Police) Raiding groups that maybe have like 1-4 people will just be ridiculous, The MP5 is accurate as hell, it doesn't even know what recoil is, and does 20 damage to the head and shoots like 5 bullets a second, Just ask Enzyme, He will give you a lecture on the beauty of the MP5. Why do the police even need long ranged weapons? They are there to support the SRU team not take over the roll of the SRU team -support from me
