Watch Dogs Thread!
#1
[Image: Skmyyy5.jpg]
So, i made this thread to open up a discussion for Ubisoft's upcoming title, Watch Dogs.
What the heck is Watch Dogs?
If you haven't heard and want to know what watch dogs is, simply go here http://watchdogs.ubi.com/watchdogs/en-gb...index.aspx

Game Overview
Set in Chicago, where a central network of computers connects everyone and everything, Watch_Dogs explores the impact of technology within our society. Using the city as your weapon, you will embark on a personal mission to inflict your own brand of justice.

Chicago's overarching network is known as the Central Operating System (ctOS), and it controls almost all of the city's technology and information - including key data on all of the city's residents.

You play as Aiden Pearce, a brilliant hacker and former thug, whose criminal past led to a violent family tragedy. While seeking justice for those events, you'll monitor and hack those around you by manipulating the ctOS from the palm of your hand. You'll access omnipresent security cameras, download personal information to locate a target, control traffic lights and public transportation to stop the enemy... and more.

Watch_Dogs takes place in a fully simulated living city. Using Aiden's smartphone, you have real-time control over the city's infrastructure. Trap your enemy in a 30-car pileup by manipulating the traffic lights. Stop a train, and then board it to evade the authorities. Narrowly escape capture by quickly raising a drawbridge. Anything connected to the ctOS can become your weapon.

Living in inner city Chicago, where violence is often answered by violence, Aiden has learned how to take the fight to the streets. Deliver devastating blows with your baton, or experience electrifying shoot-outs with physics simulation that rivals anything in the shooter category. Throughout his journey, Aiden will take on his foes with more than 30 traditional weapons.

Luckily, Aiden won't always need to traverse Chicago's streets on foot. Ubisoft Montreal has partnered with studios such as Ubisoft Reflections, the acclaimed team behind the award-winning Driver series, to provide a suite of vehicles bursting with horsepower. You'll get behind the wheel of more than 65 cars – each with state-of-the-art physics and handling – to explore Chicago's vast and intricate roadways.

I am indeed getting on that hype train Jan. This looks very promising, already pre-ordered Deluxe Edition off Greenman Gaming.

And don't worry Doomdude, I'll do it for you! Well, at least a bit of advice for what editions there are to buy and what they include.

Normal Edition
As you would think, this edition is the base package. It is a standard edition of the game. However, if you pre-order it, you will get:
•Blume Agent Pack:
◦Blume Single Player outfit
◦Weapon Specialist Boost: Less recoil on shots
HOWEVER: I strongly recommend not to buy this off Steam, as it is $74.95 Australian Dollars. You can get the standard version for just $49.99 AUD from Greenman Gaming.

Deluxe Edition
This includes mostly additional gameplay/story content, adding up to around 2 hours of missions including:

Spoiler :
CLUB JUSTICE PACK
• Rewards: Chicago South Club skin
• Perk: Driving boost: More Hit Points to Vehicles

BREAKTHROUGH Mission:
• 15 minutes additional gameplay
• Reward: VEHICLE EXPERT PERK: Get free vehicles from your Underground Car Contact and earn discounts on select cars.

SIGNATURE SHOT Mission:
• 20 minutes additional gameplay
• Rewards:
- BLACK VICEROYS GANG COLORS OUTFIT
- BIOMETRIC ASSAULT RIFLE

THE PALACE Mission:
• 20 minutes additional gameplay
• Rewards:
- INVESTIGATION BONUS: Unlock more investigation opportunities inside the network databanks.
- ATM HACK BOOST: Boost your cash rewards when hacking bank accounts.

EXCLUSIVE CONTENT:
• 60 min of additional gameplay – 4 exclusive missions
• A unique DedSec White Hat Hacker suit unlocked upon completion of the missions.
• Hacking Boost (Add 1 Battery Slot)
• A deeper knowledge of DedSec, an important faction in the Watch_Dogs universe.

Pre-order and get:
BLUME AGENT Pack

• Rewards: Blume Outfit
• Perk: Weapon Boost: Less recoil on shots

This is what I bought, it is only $10 more on Greenman Gaming ($59.99) and so it's a pretty nice deal. However, $84.95 on steam which is quite a price jump compared to other sites.

Uplay Edition
Yes, this edition is exclusive from Uplay, and the price shows it too.

Spoiler :
PHYSICAL CONTENT

Steelbook™

DIGITAL CONTENT

3 single player missions: almost 60 minutes of additional gameplay :
• Palace Pack
• Signature Shot
• Breakthrough Pack.

Pre-order now for these skins :

•Untouchables single player pack:
A nod to Chicago’s infamous 1920s criminal world.
Rewards: Tommy gun + 1920s Chicago outfit.
•Cyberpunk single player pack:
The visual incarnation of a cyberpunk.
Rewards: cyberpunk gun (a powerful one-handed weapon) + cyberpunk skin.
•Blume Agent single player pack
The visual incarnation of a blume agent.
Rewards: Blume outfit + Weapon boost: less recoil on shots.
•DedSec Shadow single player pack:
Rewards : Dedsec outfit + hacking boost: add 1 battery slot.
•Club Justice single player pack:
Rewards: Chicago South Club skin + driving boost: more hit points to vehicles.

So, only about an hour more gameplay, vs two hours more for the deluxe edition, and a few skins if you pre-order. For the price of $89.95, it would be quite a rip-off, but Uplay prices are always higher.

Dedsec Edition
This edition does include a hefty price, but it also includes a lot of collectables and physical content as well as some skins and 60 minutes of additional gameplay.

Spoiler :
PHYSICAL CONTENT
• A 23cm Aiden Pearce Figurine
• Steelbook™
• DedSec Collector’s box
• Original soundtrack of the game
• Watch_Dogs map of Chicago
• Set of 4 collectible cards: discover Watch_Dogs iconic characters through augmented reality
• Set of 3 exclusive badges..

This edition ranges over $100, depends on where you buy it.

Vigilante Edition
Mostly with physical content, this includes Aiden's cap, mask, a collector's box and the soundtrack from the game. It is cheaper, however, than the Dedsec Edition as it has only a few exclusives.

Spoiler :
PHYSICAL CONTENT

• Aiden Pearce’s iconic cap
• Aiden Pearce’s mask
• Original soundtrack of the game

DIGITAL CONTENT
• Palace Pack: A police raid is planned on the luxury palace of an Internet mogul. His impressive databanks have intimate details on thousands of people…including Aiden Pearce. Break inside, wipe the hard drives and escape before the raid begins.INVESTIGATION BONUS: Unlock more investigative opportunities inside the network databanks.ATM HACK BOOST: Boost your cash rewards when hacking bank accounts.Rewards (Unlocked upon completion of the ULC mission)

This is slightly cheaper, it just depends where you get it from.

And that's about it. Seriously, there are WAY too many editions of this game, but I hope I've helped some of you make informed decisions. Really what I think they should have done is a normal edition and a deluxe edition, and be done with it. But this is so confusing for everyone, it just makes it a mess. Anyway, I have way too much spare time.

Sincerely,
ArcHammer

I hope that it'll look better, because this chaos mode makes me doubt it.

That's on console, and also in a psychedelic sort of mode. On PC there's no doubt it looks amazing.

I'm watching a livestream right now from one of my friends who can play already, and those physics and grapics are in the game actually, he's playing it maxed out on his PC.

I got it yesterday for PS4 and so far it feels OK. The multiplayer gets boring quick, though.
