Well for £1100 budget you can get a really high end laptop that will handle gaming but ISN'T an alienware.

http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/notebooks/VortexIII-15/ is a laptop i would reccomend as you can also customise it for your needs so to say if you don't want a high end graphics car lower it and higher the CPU for example! it's really good Tounge.

It also has included in the price of it the OS and you can for just £9 upgrade the anti virus to norton for a year (i'd reccomend that.

Hope this helps!

There is absolutely no reason to pay that much if he aint going to use it for Gaming.

Its for work and School which means even a i3 Processor and the shittiest graphics card would be just fine.

If you want something show off'ish, unique and really usefull I would say this Lenovo Yoga TouchScreen PC.

It would be usefull for many things and also just plain awesome. Tounge

Oh, whatever you laptop you get try to save £100ish for a SSD - One of the best ways to upgrade your laptop imo.

He doesnt want a computer for gaming.. He wants a computer for Work and School.

This means, light weight, easy portable, 1-3 Kg, 15-17 Inch screen mostly. Wether its good for gaming or not is really irrelevant.
