[Guide] How To: Policeman
#1
Police RP Guide
The following is a guide on how to role-play as a Police Officer [Lengthened from Killjoy's Version]

Nexus Policing Guide
-If told to guard a certain area by the President or Commander, go there immediately
-No Non-Government Officials should be past the Nexus Desk or in the Garage
-Report all suspicious activity via Radio
-Do not taze a unarmed individual without first talking to him. Ask him to leave
- If a large group of armed individuals enters, quickly report it via Radio
-If you are at the desk and are quickly taken at gunpoint, do not use your radio or weaponry
-If people claim they have permission from the President to enter, ask the President first via radio
-Cuff any visitors that have clearance to enter the Nexus unless told otherwise
-Ask the President before constructing a large, keypad locked desk bunker (Whatever you call it)

Street Policing Guide
-Do not walk around with your weapon out, even lowered.
-Report everywhere you go that could result in injury via Radio
-Constantly watch for any suspicious activity
-Don't get lured into places where you will be the only cop with rebels or Corleones
-Check in on certain shops and businesses. Make sure the city is safe

Vehicle Policing/Pursuit Guide

-Do not speed or run red lights. Set a example
-Do not open fire on a vehicle just for fleeing your car
-Watch vehicles with the radar gun. Don't randomly spam the radar gun on people and doors
-Do not open fire on a vehicle for speeding. (Unless the driver is posing a threat to the citizens around him/her)
-Pursue a car when fleeing. Call for backup if they do not pull over. Attempt to push them off the road
-When waiting for speeders, always make sure your gas tank is full and your engine off
-If the subject fails to exit his car when demanded, fire a warning shot.
Shooting to kill IN THIS CASE is a last resort

Dealing with Rough Civilians and Crowds
-The President banned loitering or protesting? This doesn't mean to go around tazing everyone
-Ask crowds to disperse, protesters to exit the premises, and so on
-Do not simply taze citizens if they fail to comply. Ask them to leave multiple times, then call for a Arrest warrant
-If they get too rowdy or rough, use your tazer. Do NOT open fire unless they threaten you or others lives
-If there is any rulebreaking when protesting, remember, use @, do not take things into your own hands

Hostage Crises
-When dealing with a hostage, don't run in, guns blazing, as the result is usually a dead hostage.
-Attempt negotiation, whether through PM, or yelling at the door
-If armed individuals hostage you as well, do not use your radio or weaponry
-Remember! Paying for the freedom of a hostage means FREEDOM for the hostage. If they kill you afterwards, they broke the rules. Use @.
-Report every bit of information using your radio
-Block off the streets with unfrozen barricades and/or your squad cars (Obtain permission from your superiors)

RoE/Miscellaneous
-Do not use lethal force unless your life or the lives of others are being threatened
-Defend yourself with Deadly force if a suspect is approaching with any sort of weapon
-Usually, when they are being shot at and CROUCH, they are usually surrendering. At this point it is safe to approach. BE CAUTIOUS
-If you believe a building to be a drug haven, don't get a search warrant and go in guns blazing. Request backup and use strategy
-Remember, if you have him at gunpoint, and he pulls a gun, he broke the rules. Use @ to bring this up to the active Admins

Remember:
-When doing any of these above things, follow the server rules, as those come first
-Do not shoot at unarmed civilians
-Follow all traffic laws. Stop signs, Red Lights, Speed Limits, and so on. Set a Example
-Get permission from your superiors (and usually a admin) before building checkpoints on the road
-Use @ to report rulebreakers! Don't get banned for being a backseat admin
-During a raid, avoid NLR! If you are killed and respawn, leave the Nexus for a bit. Wait it out!
-CDM is a crime (Vehicular Manslaughter), arrest those of which who do it!
-Roleplay as much as possible! This entire post is to encourage the correct Roleplay of the Police/Commander job!
-Unresponsive Commander/President jobs should be reported to a Admin using @
-The /radio command is your friend! Use it as much as possible!

I remember reading this before I first became a Police Officer; I was so worried about not making a minge out of myself.
It was a great help, and is a very useful guide.
#6
Looks awesome! Will definitely help new users out finding their ways into roleplaying as an Officer.
#7
Great guide! I only wish that there was some way of actually forcing people read it before they can apply for Police/SS (not read it every time, just for new players when they apply for the first time).
Anyway, you covered everything, good job again!

And this is what makes me smile, and why we need these guides.

Seriously, reading through some of the roleplay guides will give you a huge advantage on the server. Wink
