A few players have reported crashing issues when attempting to join the server, or while playing the server. The vast majority of these crashes are from memory issues on the default Garry's Mod branch due to it being a 32-bit application.
To fix this issue, you can try switching to the 64-bit beta, which has a significantly higher memory limit vs the default one alongside many other improvements. You can do this via the following steps:
This is what your "Betas" tab should look like after selecting the correct 64-bit option.
If you have any issues, you can always revert back to the main branch by choosing "None" as your selected beta.
We recommend switching to the 64-bit beta branch, even if you do not currently have any issues.
To fix this issue, you can try switching to the 64-bit beta, which has a significantly higher memory limit vs the default one alongside many other improvements. You can do this via the following steps:
- Right click on Garry's Mod in your steam library, or click on the gear icon on the far right of the "Play" button when you have Garry's Mod selected in your library.
- Click on "Properties"
- Click on the "Betas" tab
- Under the "Beta Participation" selector, choose "x86-64 - Chromium + 64-bit binaries"
- When launching Garry's Mod, if the launch options appear, select "Launch Garry's Mod (64-bit)". You may also select "Always use this option", since you'll never be using the other one anyway.
