1. For staff members to be more interactive with the community.
2. The community in return is to not make players want to hang themselves.

FL right now is at its worse. In past years at the summer vacation period FL was almost full every single day and this year there were days where we had 20 people online. The main issue is that no big updates happen that will make members return/join the community and make the active ones stay. Sure casino chips and all that are good small additions but bigger updates are needed.
When it comes to the staff team, I guess it's not terrible but it could be a lot better, Awestruck kept things running I think him resigning was a big loss for the staff team and the worse part is that I don't think any of the current staff members are fit for the SA role. This is the first time that real action needs to be taken on Soul's part cause I think this is the first time that FL is really dying.

I sadly don't think you're wrong. A few noticeable points that could be of some relevance.
1) A relatively small staff team, so there's not enough nurturing of new players in order to keep them interested, active, etc?
2) Playercounts rise when there is a buzz of a new feature, map, etc, except there's no real roadmap planned out for updates that could attract a lot of attention, therefore this is a bit hit and miss.
3) Some people are extremely toxic on the forums/in game and personally I think it makes the community look quite unappealing, as well as it pushes some people away.
4) 75 slots is too much in my opinion. The server always seems more dead than it is, and when you reach a certain point, with cars placed down, etc., the server becomes an extremely laggy mess. I doubt they'd re-lower the limit but it should be a consideration.
I'm also genuinely curious as to what others think, and if there's any suggestions that I could work on or help towards, that'd be even better - I do miss the days of when FL had 3 servers, 50 slots a piece, and they'd be full.

Fl has had 75 slots for a few years now and one of your suggestions is to lower the slots so the server seems full? If the server used to get full and now it is not there is something wrong and the solution is not to lower the server capacity.

I see your argument, and yes, lowering slots is not the out and out solution, but when you go past 50, the GM is really not designed for it and the server lags to oblivion.
Really, there's a lot of stuff wrong with FL hence why there's a downfall, that was just one (small) thing I thought of.
