RP ammo clicking sound

Note: I do not know weather this is the right area. I thought it would be here because it about RP and how to do it.

Just a quick question.
You know the clicking sound when someone uses ammo, Can the character hear this? Or would it be meta game to say that i heard them use ammo because the sound is only a notification to the player that the person has used ammo. For example looking at someones name and knowing who they are from doing so because you character can't realy see this. However can you actuly hear this? Is it the sound of the person putting bullits into the magisines? I would love to know.

you can heard people reloading a gun, this is normal and ingame
so yer feel free to react too any sounds, they are there for a reason and if you shouldnt hear them, we would of made it so you didnt

1. Say 'Hello' to someone.
2. Hear them equip ammo.
3. RUN!
