When it freezes, do you force shut down the game? Try letting it run instead, sometimes it is still loading but it doesn't seem that way due to it freezing up. If you leave your computer alone and just wait it might resolve itself.
Systems with low or shallow player-to-player interaction erode the social dynamics that keeps FL interesting.
