I don't get all the fuss about the Presidential elections.

They should make it more like the system in the UK. You vote for the party, the leader of the party that got the most votes is PM. Super simple stuff.

Plus we don't have the elongated battle between people.

This is a timeline of UK Elections

1 year before: Date Announced
6 months before: You start getting your mail spammed with campaign shit
3 months before: The door to door campaigns
2 months before: Your voting card comes through
1 month before: The press starts talking about it
1 week before: Constant press, constant mail, constant canvassers, cars and helicopters with slogans attached to them etc.
2 days before: People start giving a shit.
Day of the vote: People vote
Day after: No one gives a fuck about what just happened.
