Like in my graphics card I have 640 CUDA cores.(08-04-2016, 08:32 AM)Merle Wrote:(08-04-2016, 08:16 AM)ArnyDaHamsta Wrote:Maybe it's because his CPU is dual-core is what I'm thinking, which may be the cause of the problem Garry's Mod crashing without notice.(08-03-2016, 07:47 PM)CarpeDiem Wrote:(08-02-2016, 09:35 PM)Merle Wrote: Does it say hl2.exe has stopped working out of curiousity? Cause honestly, Arny is right. Your graphics card has got to have more than 512 MB of data on it. This happened to me when I had a Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT, I later upgraded to a Nvidia GTX 560 ti EVGA and it was fine. I now currently have a Nvidia GTX 750 ti EVGA and I haven't crashed since my GeForce 8800 GT.
Graphics card has 2 GB, CPU is very good (It must be good enough for garrys mod because it costs 400$)
I used to have a 2gb(I think) Gainward GTX 260. But I upgraded to a Asus strix GTX 960 and its 4 gb, and it stopped crashing.
I had six cores with my old graphics card, I still have the same cpu in my new computer. It still crashed, unless he had a old cpu
But, if we're talking CPUs here. Honestly, the best CPU for gaming is an Intel i7-3770K. Cause some games do use up CPU power, like Arma 3 for example.
