Why you are booted for "timed out" when there's a DDoS attack
#1
When a attack is spotted the Firewall network @ the server host does these things

  • Authorise/block an IP or a sub-network of IPs

  • Authorise/block a protocol:

    • IP (all protocols)

    • TCP

    • UDP

    • ICMP

    • GRE

  • Authorise/block a port or TCP/UDP port interval
  • Authorise/block SYN/TCPs
  • Autorise/block all packets except SYN/TCPs

So basically, the firewall boots your ip from the server, this is also the reason you are unable to open the Server browser and see the servers after you are booted, Its because your IP has been blocked. It automatically unblocks after a set time which i think is around 5 minutes. The firewall does the complete opposite of what it is supposed to do, it actually assists the DDoS attackers by removing people from the server which is there goal anyway.
