It's really ridiculous... come on, can someone just fix it?

Have you recently changed any settings or added things to the launch command for Gmod?

If you did then delete the 'Settings' folder in your registry via the following path:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Valve\Source\garrysmod\Settings

I had an issue with Gmod crashing all the time and this is how I resolved it.

The 'Settings' folder will be re-added the next time you start Gmod.
