I've watched gameplay of the current beta, and it looks truly amazing. It's small right now in the beta, but you will be able to explore an entire galaxy and do so much more on the official release. I also did some more research and the company and game series have been known to create amazing, groundbreaking games with limited technology. The second game of this series was released in 1993 and you were able to explore the entire Milky Way galaxy and even go onto inhabited planet's surfaces.
I have high expectations for this game, but yet I am not getting my hopes up too much as they're making pretty big claims that could easily flop.
