Just because someone else violates the rules does not allow you to do the same. I banned based on the evidence that was available, and you were in violation of the rules. What happened before is irrelevant in regards to your own actions - If you want this ban lifted, you're going to have to provide a reason as to why what you did was not breaking the rules.
