By the sounds of things you guys were trying to force him into rp, or at least trying to force him to offend your character so you can raid. :/
If you randomly knocked on a neighbours door, and he got a knife out and threatened you to leave you would.
By the looks of things you were just goading him into either killing you or offending your character so you could raid.
