Hey, I hate extremist groups such as ISIS or Al-Qaeda as much as the next guy but it's delusional to judge every practitioner of a certain faith based upon the actions of a select few. There's no doubt that people view topics such as immigration as real concerns but to judge people on their faith instead of on their character and merits is archaic and exactly the sort of xenophobic thinking that holds us back. People here don't just have concerns about Islam (Unless you follow the BNP then chances are you're a racist hooligan) but parties such as UKIP play on the fears of the population to secure votes; none of which is helped by sensationalist media such as the Daily Mail. Opponents to immigration here focus not only muslims but also on eastern europeans. (you only have to look at the farcical that was the 'romanian invasion' the tabloids made up to see this) Honestly, I'm not aware of the political situation in Poland so things may operate differently. But I'm far more concerned that politics still moves in a direction where policy and legislation is based upon public opinion and not evidence. If immigration is tightened then it should be due to living space and economic factors, not because the public doesn't want poles or indians walking into their pubs.

On the original title/topic of this thread, I think it's hugely misguided to propose nazism wasn't inherently racist.

UKIP is actually a good opponent for other British parties, and no matter how they want to secure votes, they're doing it successfully. You don't even know why certain people decide to vote on UKIP, you need to remember that you're not everyone.

And who exactly said that immigration should be tightened because the public doesn't want whoever walking into their pubs? I've always thought that it should be tightened due to other factors, did i miss something?

Political situation in Poland is kind of different. We don't have a big problem with Muslim immigrants due to obvious reasons, but we're getting raped with bare hands by our own government - that's our real issue, google Polish tape leak.
