I am indeed getting on that hype train Jan. This looks very promising, already pre-ordered Deluxe Edition off Greenman Gaming.
And don't worry Doomdude, I'll do it for you! Well, at least a bit of advice for what editions there are to buy and what they include.
Normal Edition
As you would think, this edition is the base package. It is a standard edition of the game. However, if you pre-order it, you will get:
•Blume Agent Pack:
◦Blume Single Player outfit
◦Weapon Specialist Boost: Less recoil on shots
HOWEVER: I strongly recommend not to buy this off Steam, as it is $74.95 Australian Dollars. You can get the standard version for just $49.99 AUD from Greenman Gaming.
Deluxe Edition
This includes mostly additional gameplay/story content, adding up to around 2 hours of missions including:
This is what I bought, it is only $10 more on Greenman Gaming ($59.99) and so it's a pretty nice deal. However, $84.95 on steam which is quite a price jump compared to other sites.
Uplay Edition
Yes, this edition is exclusive from Uplay, and the price shows it too.
So, only about an hour more gameplay, vs two hours more for the deluxe edition, and a few skins if you pre-order. For the price of $89.95, it would be quite a rip-off, but Uplay prices are always higher.
Dedsec Edition
This edition does include a hefty price, but it also includes a lot of collectables and physical content as well as some skins and 60 minutes of additional gameplay.
This edition ranges over $100, depends on where you buy it.
Vigilante Edition
Mostly with physical content, this includes Aiden's cap, mask, a collector's box and the soundtrack from the game. It is cheaper, however, than the Dedsec Edition as it has only a few exclusives.
This is slightly cheaper, it just depends where you get it from.
And that's about it. Seriously, there are WAY too many editions of this game, but I hope I've helped some of you make informed decisions. Really what I think they should have done is a normal edition and a deluxe edition, and be done with it. But this is so confusing for everyone, it just makes it a mess. Anyway, I have way too much spare time.
