Fearless Strike System
This thread acts as a log of all the strikes a staff member has committed and why they have recieved them. All current staff members are listed here to show who has and hasn't received a strike. The strike system has been introduced for several reasons, most notably to replace the common 'abuse noted', found on many abuse cases throughout this sub-forum. This way, if an abuse case is deemed valid the community can feel like they are having more of an impact, rather than having mystery surround the internal side of abuse cases and how the SA(s) handle them.
The strike system has three strikes, the first offers another chance a staff member will receive, the second is the last chance and then the third will likely lead to a demotion. If a staff member is on two strikes, but doesn't commit any abuse and therefore not receiving a strike or a warning for 12 months, then the abuse will still be logged, however they will go back down to one official strike; if a staff member were to resign then their expiry date would pause until they have returned (strikes and warnings stick with a staff member and they are kept in the archive when they resign). These strikes are handed out in different ways, if an abuse case is deemed major then the staff member in question will receive a strike, with that being the harshest of punishment. In the case of something being minor but still valid, then they will receive a warning. A warning is something that isn't too concerning to warrant a full strike, however if a staff member receives 2 warnings these will culminate into a full strike. This should help staff members learn from their mistakes.
Cases of abuse that are dealt with internally such as leaking, etc. will receive a strike without a reason displayed. A strike will made known via the conclusion on an abuse case, or the SA(s) will inform the staff member privately in cases such as an internal issue. Sometimes a situation will occur where the abuse case is considered too major and that the SA(s) feels as though they cannot continue their position on any further, in this situation the staff member will receive three strikes instantly, however this will only happen in the most severe of cases. An example of this being if a staff member does something that would be worthy of a ban, in this case they would get an instant demotion due to the fact that it quite clearly shows they do not know the rules (therefore are incapable of enforcing them) or actively chose to neglect them despite their position.
With this system, we hope that this makes the staff team more aware of what they are doing in order to knuckle down on any future abuse, alongside satisfaction amongst the community, so that they feel more involvement with the cases. If we feel as though a staff member is being targeted the person in question will be spoken to and dealt with accordingly.
