What places are UM and MTL?

I always hear people speak of UM and MTL and didn't quite figure out where are those places or what do these shorts mean.

Depending on which map you play on, the pictures above are from v2d, I don't believe there is a Um on V33x but MTL is an giant shipping looking building (They usually have a sign saying MTL on the side of it). It is different for each map, location and the layout of the area.

There is no UM on v33x or v2p.

MTL on v2p is next to the Corleone spawn, it has the huge crane. MTL on v33x is the large compound to the left as you enter the industrial sector.
