Gary's Mod Problem?

When I start Gary's Mod up when its loading home screen like where you can choose multiplayer or single player its brings a pop up saying HL2 has stopped working then I can do check windows for solution it asks or close page or something is it the update causing this?

Hmm... could be. Unless you find a better solution I advise re-installing GMod.

I have not re-installed gmod ever but you mean deleting it from steam then buying it? if so will I still have all my stuff from other servers and stuff?
also I realized it does not give an option to find a solution it just says close page or something

Not in a while but when ever my gmod crashes it says HL2 has stopped working I restarted my computer it did not work.

Well mainly its saying HL2 is causing the problem that's what it says every time. I may just wait till tomorrow if it still does not work ill see if I can get some help.
