This problem seems to be cropping up more and more frequently. No, it's not a problem with the server, and clearing your cache won't help. Go ahead and re-download the content pack in a futile attempt to fix it! The real fix is this:
Main menu.

Yup. You're at the main menu. It doesn't matter if you're in a server, but chances are you're not.
Options.

Open the Options menu.
Multiplayer.

Go to the Multiplayer tab in the Extentions menu. Ha. No, just kidding - it's in the Options menu.
Drop-down menu.

There's your problem - the game's settings were set to "Do not download any custom content". That's bad - the server content cannot be sent to the client, and so the client will think the server is running the regular Sandbox gamemode! Duuh!
All the content.

Change it to "Download all custom files from server". Click OK. And join your favourite roleplay server.
