The title "new member" associated with your stars that are under the title. The stars are linked to the number of total posts you have made. In any case you can change it in the control panel.

As previously mentioned, it changes based on your activity. Or in other words, how many stars you have. :at:
I would like to explain the 'star' system for you; (All the numbers mentioned is the amount of stars) 1-5 is decided by the amount you post. 1= less than 50 posts 2 = More than 50 posts 3 = More than 200 posts 4 = More than 500 posts 5 = 1000+ Posts Exceptions/additions; 5 = Mod/Teacher 6 = Administrator/Developer 7 = SA (Super admin) 8 = Owner You can change the default title yourself though: User CP > Edit Profile > Custom User Title > Blank box, then type what ever title you want!
