I've chosen this as setup for the new dedi:

I7-2600K 3.4Ghz
4GB DDR3-1033 RAM
2 x 500GB Raid1 HDD
ASRock H61M-VS Motherboard
And the case with powersupply etc in the first post.

Suggestions welcome

I'd say get some more DDR3 in that, other than that it looks pretty awesome.

Soul i will recommend a Xeon CPU,
but it costs shitload of money
#15
yeah i'm pretty sure you can get like 8gb of ddr3 ram for just like 50 bucks? and i'd recommend a SSD drive, they have no moving parts which means they're pretty much fail proof. not to mention they're TONS faster. regardless, glad to hear about this!

Soul, your so smart that it hurts.
What made you decide to do all of this?

Looks pretty nice.
I live in germany (like 170km from Amsterdam) and my ping on the server was around ~90ms - not that smooth (especially when driving).
Will I get a better ping when the new server location is in Amsterdam?
#18
Yeah you will, everyone will since it is generally a better dedi Cheese

Soul took my advice with the SandyBridge range of CPUs Smile

Although I still recommend a pair of Samsung Spinpoint F3s for the HDD, they're boss.
