Crash when joining either v33x OR v2d

There have been several times when I have been unable to connect to any of the servers, the game will run fine until the game starts to retrieve server data and the game crashes without any error popups. What could be the issue?

So far I have verified the game cache, reinstalled the server addons, and even the game itself.

Try loading up the maps in singleplayer first, then join the servers.

I have the same issue, except it happens at "Sending client info.."

I tried that too, didn't work for either server.

same issue atm. But it crashes windows for me and im forced to restart my PC. (ie i cant even use control alt delete it doesn't do anything.)

Try going into thse while in game | Options > Multiplayer > Do not allow any cutom files in the drop down box.

I think this is something that a developer needs to fix as its been occurring for multiple users.

I've tried everything that has been suggested on this board before.
