The Democratic People's Republic of Evo.

Dear inhabitants of this forum,

Yesterday I've decided to play as a dictator once again.

This turned out great! I wish to thank everyone that was involved to make this great RP event.
I would also like to ask everyone that has footage of this event to post it in this thread.

Now, because I am at my work again and I have nothing to do, I'll write a shortstory about what happened the other day.

***President's log 08-07-2015 - 09-07-2015***

Electionday

"Thank you dear citizens of Evocity for electing me as your president!", echo'd through the streets of Evocity.
I've reigned victorious. I've won the people's trust in this dark time.

The city was broken due to the previous president's regime. Evocity was in poverty, crime rates were sky-high.
30% Of the population was unemployed!
Today's Greece was nothing compared to Evocity.

I wrote down some strict laws in order to get this city out of these dark times.

I've became so strict, that it contradicted my own election campagne!
Not to mention my own ideology.
"I must, it is for the greater good of this city" I said to myself, "It contradicts everything I stand for, but I cannot make this city prosper again without these measures!"
It sickened me.

I've ordered the construction of a bottlecap factory, so the the percentage of unemployed citizens would go down, taking criminality down aswell.

But there was more to be done to save this city.

The Dawn of a New Era

I decided to address the people.
I knew the people allready had sacrificed alot, but it was not enough.
Far from it.
"Dear inhabitants of Evocity, thank you once again for electing me as your leader"
Was the first line of my speech, which I held in the nexus lobby.
Everyone stared with great admiration.
It gave me confidence.
"I know you all have sacrificed alot, but if we want to make this city prosper again we must sadly sacrifice more."
"A new era dawns for Evocity, an era full of progress." "Together we can put these dark times behind us and become immortal as a city, like we were in the days of yonder"

"I shall make clear the path towards prosperity and immortality, for I am your Supreme Leader, I am James Johanolsen!"

Eveyone clapped, everyone cheered.
I do not know why I called myself the Supreme Leader, it kind of rolled out of my mouth. I saw the hope in the people's faces and it empowered me.

I spoke to my SWAT Sergeant and my Police Sergeant. Asking them where their loyalty lie and whether they would follow me, even how hard the path may become.
"Prepare for resistance, as not every citizen would obey my laws."

I became overwhelmed with power, it fueled me, it empowered me, it made me stronger than I've ever felt before.

I've become a despot.

The Path to Prosperity

I pushed through some new laws to further stabilize the city.

No vehicles, they cause accidents, and are used by organised crime families to conduct their illigal activities.
Weaponry and drugs were prohibited.
A curfew was of effect at night to maximize productivity in the bottlecap factory at day.

The bottlecap factory was the flagship of my regime. Everyone worked there if they were unemployed before.
The bottlecap factory supplied the bottle factory in the east. Improving trade relations with neighbouring country.

"Good morning dear inhabitants of Evocity", "It is time to go to work" echo'd through the streets every morning.
"I wish that you all have a very productive day at work today."
And at the end of the day,
"Dear inhabitants of Evocity, it is time to return to your homes, did you have a productive day at work?"
"Have a good night of sleep, you have another day of work tomorrow ahead of you."
"The curfew is now in effect"

I relished every moment I looked at my city.
"This is what we've achieved sofar, but we cannot stop here" I said to my security.

But as my might grew, so did the resistance.

Civil Unrest

It was a beautifull day.
The city was basically feeding from the palm of my hand.

"Down with the Supreme Leader" sounded through the city.
"Down with the oppressor".

I was shocked.
In order to get rid of this resistance I introduced the "loyalist" system.
"Report any illigal activities to the government", "Report your neighbour for suspicious behaviour and you shall receive a medal, in honor of your Supreme Leader", "Become a loyalist and you shall receive many privilages".

This however did not work anymore.

Days became darker.
My regime began to lose it's tight grip on the city.
My police officers started to doubt the Supreme Leader.

The resistance grew.

The Uprising

"Rise up against this tyrant!"
"Join the revolution at sunrise"
"When the sun rises, so will the revolution"

Due to security flaws it was wise for me to flee the nexus.
And so I fled.

"I've lost this city" I said to myself.
"The question now is, who is in charge? Am I?"

2 SWAT officers escorted me inside a SWAT to a secret location outside the city.
The location was at the hidden village.
I set up my administration there. I occupied a building and I called it the "Supreme Church".

I left my Right Hand back at the nexus.
I soon lost contact with him.
He was executed in public when the revolters stormed the nexus.

The only way I could strengthen my grip on the city would be propaganda.
Calling up any loyalist to rise up against the revolters.

"Dear citizens of the Democratic People's Republic of Evo" (I changed the name of the nation so it would appeal better to the citizens.)
"I bring you tragic news" "The bottlecap factory has been bombed by the revolters."
"Stop this, rise up against the revolters, before they tare down the very fabric of this society, where we worked and sacrificed so much for!"
"You do not want to return to your wife, telling her that all this has been for nothing"

It was for nothing eventually.

Coup de grâce

The revolters found out where the broadcasts were comming from and I had to relocate.

The SWAT van had to take a few hits on the escape.
The next stop was the hospital, where I started broadcasting again.

I asked the citizens and the revolters what it would take to end this civil unrest.

"Kill yourself" was all I heared. Like a child trying to insult an adult.

The revolters soon found the new location again and I had to run again.
Now this resulted in a car chase, with me in the SWAT van.

I suggested that I would be dropped off in the forrest and that he van would act as a decoy so I could sneak towards a hideout at the corleone compound.
I was spotted and kept prisoner in one of the compounds.

***#ERROR-404 - LOG UNSUSPECTED END#***
*** End of President's log ***

People say that the last words of the Dictator were:
"I am James Johanolsen, your Supreme Leader. Shoot me down, and another shall rise!"

To this day people are still celebrating the day when they were freed from the tyrant.

But for how long?

Requesting to move this thread to the sub-forum: "events".

I think it would fit better there.

This was probably the most fun I've had on a dictator rp but there were so many mistakes made on our part as we fled from location to location. Doodleh had broadcasted over the rt screens from the hospital, and to those far away enough the props glitched and appeared invisible showing the blue wall and tiled floor. It didn't take long for them to find us. As we drove for our lives we ended up leaving Jonesy behind and after 5 minutes of pursuit from many cars we dropped the Doodleh off and began driving around the city as a distraction for about 20 minutes running through roadblocks and resisting the many cars ramming us.

Although the dictator didn't survive the other SWAT member and I certainly did, wouldn't have made it without that van.

It was getting really late for me (5AM). I made it a bit eassier for the revolters to find me.
#7
Nicely written. Would like to see some pictures though, off the factory and alike.
#8
Well, there wasn't really a bottlecap factory. I just roleplayed that there was one.
