SRU Changes (SWAT + Models)

I thought I saw somewhere being said "SWAT name might take protection from the president" or something similiar. Well if I am correct SRU/SWAT were to protect Nexus not the president himself? So if president isn't in nexus SWAT are standing there for no reason right?

Neither of the afore mentioned are SWAT/SRU's job. SWAT stands for Special Weapons and Tactics, SRU stands for Strategic Response Unit....none of they names indicate "defending the nexus" or "defending the president"

They are there standing by for callouts when normal police officers cannot contain the situation, examples are gun fights, breaking into Gang bases where there is a possibility of violence etc.

The idea of SRU/SWAT is an heavily armed unit that can respond to urgent calls like shootouts that require a tactical team. They shouldn't patrol as you don't see a tactical unit making casual arrests. They also shouldn't protect the President at any point as that's not their job.

The only time they should protect the President is if they receive a call a call which requires them; for example an ongoing raid.

It's actually really debated.

If you're transporting a high risk person (Like a dictator) to a new compound, it's probably okay to put SWAT in the escort vehicles.
