Garry was a simple man. He didn't have much of a story and quite frankly, the only major event of his life was the Combine takeover of Earth.
Garry lived in a city, packed rations and watched Breencasts.
But one day, Garry's life changed. Garry... He found something.

Something that would turn Garry into.... Something much, much more.
He found a device. A blue button with the letter 'G' scribed onto it, it was like a square only... the corners were rounded. Perplexed, Garry pocketed the button and headed back to his apartment. He wasn't sure what it was; whether it was contraband or whether to hand it over to the Combine. Answers he would receive sooner than he thought.
As Garry was perched upon his bed, he decided to inspect the button further and almost as if on cue, he heard the dispatch;
"Attention, ground protection teams. Local anti-reality device detected. Code; RESPOND, MIDNIGHT, STERILIZE."
At first he thought nothing of the queer coincidence, disregarding the unusual command with a simple frown. But then he heard them. The Civil-Protection.
Thunderous stomping of heavy kevlar boots, pounding off of the aged and oppressed wooden stairs got closer and closer, he heard the vo-coded shouts, cracks of breaking door hinges and screams of poor residents stalking the corridors towards his apartment. He didn't know what an 'Anti-Reality device' did and wasn't sure why the Combine were coming in force for it. What he did know, is that he was going to find out now or die in the Nexus.
Without a further moment's hesitation, Garry smacked his palm against the button and something magical happened. He could see everything. All that existed, exists and yet to exist was at his finger tips, he was cast into a plain of omnipresence with a gift from the gods, weapons, humans, robots, worlds and even universes were at his disposal. Two things, however, stood out to Garry. Two things simply labelled 'physgun' and 'toolgun'... Ignoring the wealth, fame and godly powers, Garry reached for the two tools and pressed the button again, holding both of his newly found tools of liberation he found himself back in his apartment... Just as the door flew from it's frame.
Garry held down the button on 'physgun' and actually froze a Metrocop in mid-air, he was frozen in time! As his bewildered comrades stared in horror, Garry took the lightning opportunity to fire 'toolgun' at them, making them simply vanish into thin air! Amazing!
He spun the chamber of 'toolgun' and aimed it at the CP before firing a burst of blue lighting into him which seemed to turn him to concrete.
As Garry used 'physgun' to release the statue of cruelty, he realised something. He realised all worlds were his to behold. He could create what he wanted, where he wanted, when he wanted. He was a god. Again, he smacked the button and continued onto worlds beyond our wildest imaginations...
