EvoCity Police Department: Your Equipment
#1
15/11/2014                                           Police Department of EvoCity                              CONFIDENTIAL: FOR INTERNAL USE ONLY    - Chief Commissioner Valentino

Radar Gun
This piece of equipment fires radio waves in a narrow beam using Doppler Radar. Due to the laws of Physics, the 'Doppler Effect' occurs, causing the frequency to differ based on the time it takes to record the displacement of the target over time. This information is cycled through a database of equations within the Radar Gun and the speed of the object is displayed for you to record and report if needed. You should use this equipment only if on Traffic Duty, do not record random speeds and harass passer-bys!

Heckler & Koch USP.45 Handgun
A high-powered, semi-automatic sidearm that fires .45 ACP rounds into it's target. It is lethal. This weapon is intended to kill. It fits in your holster and should be visible to the public at all times within this holster, letting them know they are in an armed presence. You should only EVER use this weapon if you or those you serve to protect are in immediate danger! Do NOT wave this around in public without a good reason!

X26 Taser Gun
An electroshock weapon that fires two dart-like electrodes still connected to the Taser weapon via cable. The electrical charge causes spasms of a target's muscles and results in a neuromuscular incapacitation, leaving them vulnerable to an arrest/detainment. Bear in mind, this is still a weapon. You should only EVER use this weapon if a target is resisting arrest, acting aggressively or putting themselves and others in immediate danger. NEVER use a taser on a suspect using a live firearm.

Rigid Bar Handcuffs
Handcuffs are restraints put on an individual as both; procedure of an arrest or to detain a potentially dangerous individual during a potentially dangerous situation. They are composed of steel hoops that can be tightened to adjust an individual's wrist size as well as a solid, steel stock connecting both cuffs and ultimately restricting movement of a detainee. You should only EVER use handcuffs if you feel threatened, are planning to carry out an arrest or if detaining possible threats during a Police Raid (be sure to release them following the raid!).

ASP 21 Inch Expendable Baton
Your baton is used for forced compliance. On a normal occasion, suspects you have had to both tase and handcuff will try to further resist arrest. The procedure is to simply whack them across the back of the head once the arrest warrant is granted and take them to the cells unconscious. (OOC: Arrest Baton, just hit detained individuals who have an arrest warrant).

'Enforcer' Battering Ram
The 'Enforcer' Battering Ram is composed of a steel tubular shape with a shock-absorbent steel pad at the end of said baton. It weighs approximately 16kg, so normally, these will be kept in an Officer's patrol vehicle. They are designed to knock down any and all doors should a passive entry be impossible and a search warrant has been declared on the property's resident. You should only EVER use the Battering Ram once a Search Warrant has been achieved and (although sometimes exempted) attempts at a peaceful entry from the resident have proven useless!
