Go AMD. Always.
Get more RAM.
More storage space if you can afford it. What's the budget deadline?
#3
Solid choice of hardware, no doubt.
I would recommend getting some more RAM in, possibly a boot SSD, if your budget allows.
#4
Yep i would double the RAM if i were you + get a Boot SSD like Joykill said also if the Case allows possibly a seccond DVD drive, a second one can be invaluable. (Thats my experience at least)

8GB Ram should be more than enough, I don't see why he'd need more.
#6
As Jamie said, 8gb Ram should be more than enough unless you're editing videos, rendering a lot etc.
#7
To keep cost down I would stick with the 8GB RAM but getting a boot SSD would help, also have you seen the newest AMD CPU? If not http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduc...ubcat=1825 I would only get it if you have the extra cash to spend on it you might be able to find it cheaper on a different website. Apart from that I think you should be good.

I would rather go for a Intel processor as they're better quality, and I really like the hyperthreading. It's up to you to decide that but besides it you can get SSD for your windows as that's really recommended
