But still, the maps and everything..I had half life 2 and I still had to download at least something like half a gigabyte. God dammit why

And I don't have 256kb/s internet, that would be sluggish. I install steam games at 7mb/s, which is rubberbanded. I literally hit "Install" and the game was ready to play.
