After doing some digging, CP was launched in 2005. Disney bought out Club penguin in 2009. and since 2011, they ran the place to the ground by turning it into a shithole.
They shut it down in 2017. In 2018 some fans revived it. Two different fans. One making Club penguin Online, and one Club Penguin Rewritten.
Club penguin online revived the way Disney made it in 2017, and Club penguin revived it to the classic nostalgic feel of 2006-2011 artwork and content.
Two different entities attracted two different crowds. Club penguin online attracted the worst. Introverts, aliens, child sexual predators, and depression. Disney sued them and they shut down. The owner would torment its staff and ask for nudes in return for a moderator role.
Club Penguin Rewritten is thriving and still alive. They have made the game feel the same way as your best childhood memories with the same art graphics which weren't an eyesore like CP in 2017.
