I can take the blame on this one, since I was the SA who suggested the perm, later on noticing that the bans are not issued in this way anymore.
Please understand that cases like yours are pretty rare, and not so easy to know in the back of the head, to be able to handle them as fair as possible.
Your unban request is being handled and we will come back with a decision shortly.
