I agree and disagree. It would be nice for the people who didn't do it and those who lost, however it isn't going to be nice for those who do it. But it won't happen since 2 of the staff team have made all of their money from it. Also some of the people who are complaining about this have done casinos but haven't made as much as others. I personally don't have a problem with it. However people with power shouldn't be allowed to do it. It may be a small factor, yes. But you simply can't argue that the number of money packs bought to spend money in casinos is in any way on the same scale as the amount of money that the unlimited stolen contraband was pushing in. Can we please see proof of it making people buy moneypacks because they lost in a casino vs buying for any other reason. Again the amount of money moneypacks give is no where near as what contraband made in one day. You should not be able to purchase the most expensive item on the market over 10 times because you've made such an amount of money in a few days, that's just beyond unbalanced. There should be regulations on casinos. Max bets of 2k or ban them outright. There should be regulations on casinos. If I had a clear solution for it I would've pushed out a suggestion, but sadly I'm not entirely sure myself either. Regardless of anything, you cannot deny the fact that it's been too profitable to some members of the community. I do think Ghost's idea is something to consider, though perhaps the max bets should be slightly higher than 2000. There's your roleplay. It is not a small factor, keep in mind that those who buy money packs doesn't necessarily mean they want to gamble them away. Those who buy money packs, generate money. And that money has to be spent somewhere, either buying cars, weapons, clothes, food, dupes, and of course betting. And someone will be profiting of those money that were generated, guess where they end up? Casinos at some point. All of our money, that we earn from other players, has a lot of money packs involvement. And of course once the rich gets richer from the casinos and making people go bankrupt, they are most likely to buy money packs to get their money back. I witnessed this many times, those who lose a lot of money at my casinos, will buy money packs but that doesn't necessarily mean they will always gamble it away, sometimes they do. RE: Opinions on the latest announcement! - Nevy - 07-19-2018 Casinos are simply a method of wealth re-distribution and Contraband is, on the other hand, creating in-game money with no limitation at a far superior rate. I've seen that the most frequently posted argument is that it encourages people to purchase money-packs and would actually question this both in the sense that it's unfounded and also in that if it were true this isn't necessarily the issue at hand and it would actually be beneficial to the server as the server(s) run off of these donations. Placing a maximum bet limitation is honestly extremely off-putting considering this is a legitimate opportunity for players new and old to earn their place here. Anyone is able to create a casino and operate it. New players, however, have to go and start off with stricter limitations to bets as they wouldn't be able to fund the losses they might take on. Running a casino isn't easy money. The risk to reward is fair and in the end, it is up to the individual whether or not they would like to spend their in-game money in a casino. Restrictions on this form of role-playing & in-game business would not be beneficial to the server economy but would simply restrict something that has long been a monumental aspect of the game-mode. Some of you mentioned that if you looked at the statistics page you would notice that the majority of the leading individuals were those that were involved in the casino industry and I would ask why this is problematic. It takes money to make money and we want to encourage in-game entrepreneurship. What would your alternative be? That someone earns their place on the top of the leaderboards by farming contraband in a metal base? I do not have to provide proof to you, because why would someone record people buying money packs to have as evidence for whatever reason? You seem to try to pull the "where's your evidence" card on me, you clearly want to prove me wrong, don't you? Run casinos for at least 9 months and you will witness it before your eyes. |
