I thought the goal is to make people have fun.
Raising the salary doesn't seem to change the main issue - the job is very uneventful and quite frankly boring at times.

100% this. The job gets pretty stale after about 15 minutes unless you plan to go dictator. This could potentially lead to more interesting roleplay situations for the role and for the server as a whole if done correctly.

The worst part of playing president is sitting around not being able to even go outside without someone holding your hand. A better salary would at least make it bearable.
