RE: Worst summer ever... - DVN - 07-21-2015 England over the past few weeks has been having some amazing weather, one week we we're hitting straight 25+ degrees Celsius in the North East which isn't very common. It's just so unpredictable and liable to change so much. RE: Worst summer ever... - Michael - 07-21-2015 It's fucking hot in here as fuck here in Thessaloniki, Greece. 36°C (96.8 F) right now, time is 15:48 RE: Worst summer ever... - aviator - 07-21-2015 (07-21-2015, 12:40 PM)DVN Wrote: It's just so unpredictable and liable to change so much. It is very unpredictable here. Looking at the forecast with "100% chance of rain" (how the fuck does that even work?!), so you wear a coat and what not. Doesn't rain. Although I can't complain about temperatures in England, thanks to the Atlantic we have mild winters for our latitude. RE: Worst summer ever... - RK-Fin - 07-26-2015 Finnish summer in lapland: 8 to 15 degree celcius and raining Don't say anything about bad summer weather until you have visited Finland at extreme midsummer 3 degree celcius and raining wet snow. RE: Worst summer ever... - TheMJ - 07-26-2015 On holiday in Belgium. The rain was real. RE: Worst summer ever... - Matrix_ - 07-26-2015 so much celsius RE: Worst summer ever... - Judge Rage - 07-26-2015 come visit scotland then you'll understand what summer really means rain RE: Worst summer ever... - Sirrus - 07-26-2015 This basically sums up what's happening here. RE: Worst summer ever... - Safira - 07-28-2015 Fuuuuck that. I'm telling you, once you leave England/Somewhere with 'normal' seasons, you're going to miss it. Over here we just get a constant, humid 35°c. Granted: you get the occasional drought, or the monsoon season where you just get a little bit more of them torrential downpours. But it's all. The. Same. At least the in the likes of the UK, you get leaves turning golden in autumn. You get short days and chilly breezes in winter. DID I MENTION YHE POSSIBILITY OF SNOW? Then the leaves start to change and you have lambs and shit being born. And then, in Summer, those glorious few days are so magical that you appreciate them that much more. 4 straight days of 20°c+ weather and there's the BBC: "HOLY GOD WE'RE HAVING A HEATWAVE!" Yes, England is renowned for its pissy weather. But you can't deny that once the Summer term starts, nobody gives a shit. Everyone is in the 'summer' mood, and everyone goes outside more, and you can actually BRING OUT THE SUMMER CLOTHING. Both the variety and rarity of British summers is what makes those few days which earn that year the title of "England's hottest summer on record yet!" so fantastical. |
