We're not holding it back for no reason, there's a few changes the development team wants to make internally to the other one. We didn't actually originally plan to switch to V5FL now, it was just done as the servers were down anyway so we figured we may as well considering a lot of the community had major issues with V5P. The point of this edit was to make V5P more suitable for FL and give us another map option that works well. We basically now have two maps created for FL with a third undergoing more tweaks. We could've stayed on the original V5P and just set the next one up in the next few days, but we decided what we're doing now is the better option now that we have mappers on the team. It's also probably worth noting that it wouldn't have been possible to set the custom one up in time for the servers also coming back up.

I also want to make sure people's expectations are in-line for what the upcoming one is, it's more of a mix of favourite stuff from other maps rather than something fully custom. The base for the upcoming one was V4B1 but it is hardly recognisable to that in terms of its layout now. The reason it has taken so long isn't due to the actual map itself but rather the countless issues we've faced along the way. This was our first time doing something on this scale and we've learned a lot from it especially with planning. We know that no matter what map we have some will like it while some dislike, which is why it's much more important to have a selection of maps that we know work well with FL's needs.

Okay so it’s not done then. Your wording originally was that it was done and just waiting for no reason. 

Of course you aren’t going to have a 100% approval rating on a map. That’s a given. But once this custom map is done you should honestly keep it that forever and adjust that map to give the illusion of “change” instead of already declaring the new map is going to fail.

We're going to likely have to swap maps every so often no matter what map we get, it's just what FL has become now and there's no point in us fighting against it. It's better to have a custom pool of maps we can choose from that we know work well rather than trying to force the community to stick to one for as long as possible. We learned that from being on SanRanevo V2 for a very long time. We do still update our maps once we learn what people dislike about it, like what we did with SanRanevo (we made a v2 before we went back onto it) and what we're doing with V5FL now. We've only just got a mapper on the team again after quite some time so our plans are still early.

people play for the server (aka the players and aggressiveRP and passiveRP) not a map.
