Villas Rejects Outsiders
The Villas, often seen as San Ranevo's suburbs, have recently found themselves more and more isolated from the outside world. These new fences, walls, and barriers were erected shortly after the New Year, as a direct result of the residents being afraid of rising crime levels in the city; in 2020 it has been reported that crime rates increased by 39% from the previous year in San Ranevo. While erecting tall walls around private property is not illegal, some of the constructions fail to meet the city's building code standards, however residents unanimously refuse to alter or remove their "defences" until action is taken against the increasing rates of crime in the city.

We spoke to some of the residents of the area during our visit, one of the homeowners stated "it's a big shame that we had to do this, because this is a really, really nice place to live, but crime is skyrocketing these days, so we had to do something". Another said "the government and police are failing us, it's a matter of them doing something about protecting us, or us taking it into our own hands by self-defence, and I mean, this is pretty passive".

The government has been under pressure lately to tackle crime in San Ranevo, but also to control what many are seeing as a disorganised and rowdy police force. The government is fighting a war against crime on two fronts, to both appease citizens and to keep the police force is check. It is expected that the government will soon tighten restrictions on police shootings of speeding vehicles due to public outcry and claims that it only exacerbates crime levels.

Police tackle reckless drivers

Speaking of speeding vehicles and the rise of crime, it seems to be more and more trendy to drive carelessly through the city centre at Main Street and get involved in a car chase with the police, with damages to both private and public property this month alone being reported as "very high", so what is being done about this ongoing menace on the streets?

With the previously mentioned crackdown on the shooting of speeding vehicles in advance of a possible ban on such actions, the police force has gotten creative and are trying to fight fire with fire, and have purchased 4 Ford Interceptors and are now using them as speedy weapons to deter criminals, as they can catch up with both significant ease and style.

Two Ford Interceptors were used to stop the reckless driving of a pink Dodge Charger, and after several minutes of chasing, without the use of any bullets or guns, the dangerous driver was brought to a step near the Lake. Maybe shooting at things until they go away isn't the answer after all.

Fight Club comes to San Ranevo

People were buzzing today as a series of boxing matches occurred. This event has been described as well-organised, well-advertised, and well-run by many of the people we spoke to. Large crowds gathered to watch the fights go down between several heavyweight and lightweight boxers, with the winners receiving cash prizes of varying amounts, and the losers receiving medical attention by the on-site paramedics.

The matches did not go down without some problems however, as prior to the event, an attempted attack on the ring was made as a molotov was thrown, however minimal damage occurred and the on-scene firefighters dealt with it effectively. During the actual fights, a van tried to crash into the arena, however quick police thinking deterred this action from causing serious harm to anybody.

Overall, the self-described "Fight Club" was a phenomenal success that left both winners and losers, attendees and staff, security and police alike satisfied. Hopefully similar organised events occur in the future.

Typical low quality jargon produced by these lower tier media companies. It makes me sick to think THIS is what replaced the Pravda. Just wait and you'll see what quality is.
